What one day can deliver
- The main spot. A :30 or :60 for TV, streaming, YouTube or your website.
- Cut-downs. :15 and :06 versions built from the same footage.
- Vertical versions. 9:16 cuts for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, framed for the phone, not cropped from a wide shot.
- Extra moments. Product close-ups, B-roll and short clips for posts and ads over the following months.
- Stills. Frames or photos for thumbnails, the website and ads.
How it is planned
- List the destinations. Where will each version run? TV, streaming, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, the website, in-store screens.
- Write the script with cut-downs in mind. The key message lands in the first seconds so short versions still make sense.
- Build one shot list for every format. Each setup is framed so it works both wide and vertical, or shot twice where it matters.
- Leave space in the schedule. A few minutes per setup for social moments and stills, while the lighting and talent are already there.
- Edit the main spot first, then the versions. The approved spot sets the look, music and message for everything else.
Why it saves money
The expensive part of a shoot is getting everyone and everything in place: crew, cast, lighting, location. Once that is done, a few extra setups cost very little. Coming back for a second day to shoot social content means paying for all of it again.
How we deliver
Our editing team delivers every version you need, from the broadcast master to vertical cut-downs, with color, sound mix and motion graphics done in-house. See finished work such as The Suit Store walkthrough on our work page, or read what goes into the cost of a commercial in New Jersey.
Questions we hear
Can you make vertical videos from a horizontal commercial?
Yes, but they look best when the vertical versions are planned and framed on the shoot day rather than cropped afterwards.
How many videos can come from one shoot day?
It depends on the script, but a well-planned day commonly produces a main spot, short cut-downs, vertical social versions and extra clips.
Do social versions cost extra?
Each version takes editing time, but planning them before the shoot costs far less than a second shoot day later.
