About Skyllamas

Skyllamas Productions is a video production company in Totowa, New Jersey, built on rhythm, timing and human connection, and founded in 2018 by director and former competitive ballroom dancer Slawomir “Slawek” Roszak.

Our story

Stories with rhythm

Slawek stepped onto his first ballroom competition floor in 1996. In 2010 he came to the United States from Poland to compete, and in 2018 he retired from competition and founded Skyllamas, bringing the dancer’s instincts behind the lens. He still coaches and choreographs dancers today.

That background still shapes how we work. Every shot is planned like choreography: where the camera moves, when the talent hits their mark, how the cut lands on the beat. It’s why our commercials feel precise and our music videos feel alive.

Today we write, board and shoot commercials, brand films and music videos from our studio in Totowa, where we also produce podcasts. And we make room for emerging talent, giving new actors, musicians and creatives a real set to grow on.

Slawomir Roszak

Goes by Slawek

Slawek competed in ballroom from 1996 to 2018, coming to the United States from Poland in 2010 to compete. In 2018 he retired from competition and founded Skyllamas, and he still coaches and choreographs dancers. Today he directs and produces every Skyllamas project and runs the Skyllamas studio in Totowa, including its podcast productions. The dancer’s eye for timing, lines and detail shapes every shot, and years of performing make him a calm, clear director for actors, artists and first-timers alike.

Denise Sobiewski

Denise keeps every production running smoothly, from the first conversation to final delivery. A University of Miami business management graduate, she manages client communication and supports the team on set. She is also a professional ballroom dancer, adjudicator and choreographer, and has built marketing strategies for luxury ballroom dress brands.

    Acting Coach

    Christina

    Christina began training as an actor at eight and holds a BA in English Literature and Psychology from Florida State University and an MA in Theatre Studies from Montclair State University. She teaches at Fairleigh Dickinson University, coordinates workshops at Montclair State and produces the Theatre Night Awards. On our sets she prepares talent and first-time performers so they come across natural and confident.

    Hannah studied marketing at Montclair State University and specializes in social media, SEO and graphic design. With a background consulting for small businesses, she builds promotion plans that help the work we create reach the right audience. Off the clock, you’ll find her on the tennis court.

    Lead Editor

    Oscar

    Oscar leads post-production. He shapes the story in the edit, sets the pacing and rhythm, and edits the dialogue so every line sounds clean and natural, then brings each piece through color and finishing. He manages revision rounds and delivers every version you need, from the broadcast master to vertical cutdowns.

    Louis

    Louis makes sure everything sounds as good as it looks. He records clean dialogue on set and in the studio, mixes the final sound and composes original music and custom scores, so your spot can have a sound that belongs only to your brand.
